Last Thursday Josh went in for Pectoralis Major Tendon Repair. His tendon ripped completely off the bone of his humerous. Josh's Mom, Heidi, was able to come out Wednesday and stayed till Sunday to help. It was so nice to have her here and keep me company while Josh was in surgery and resting after. The surgery went well and now he has 2 screws and some anchors and heavy duty stitches in his arm. Josh calls it fishing line. Ha ha. He is going to go back to school tomorrow for the first time. He is still in a big sling and has to wear it for a while. He gets his staples out tomorrow. They had to shave his chest and armpit for surgery so we had to shave the rest of it and the other arm pit! Ha ha I told him he looked like a fem! He is just so hairy that it is weird to see him without hair!! We will just have to play it by ear with football. The doctor told us that 6 months is minimal and 18 months is optimal for him to go back to play. The scary thing is is that if he goes back too soon and injures it again it can't be fixed. He will just lose that motion and strength in his arm. So he definitely doesn't want to do that again. He wouldn't be able to pick up our children or play sports
with them or anything very well. So we are taking it a day at a time. He is so independent and tries to do everything by himself. So this has been good for him to have to let people help him!
I forgot to take any pictures while Heidi was out here but we had a great time! We love when people come to visit so if anyone ever wants to come we would love it!!
We hope everyone is doing well!! :)
