Lots to update!

When Jaxson was one week old, Heidi bought him a "Happy Birthday" cake! We all celebrated that night and sang him Happy Birthday and had cake! It was so fun!

Jaxson has had lots of firsts! We gave him his first bath, which he LOVED! He just lays there in the warm water. He just doesn't like to be naked so he cries when he gets out and in! He also went for his first walk in the stroller! He liked it also, he was awake pretty much the whole time just looking around. He loves his swing and bouncer too! He is a pretty easy going baby as long as he is not hungry!

We also went to Jaxson's two week check up! He is a growing boy! He now weighs 6 lbs. 8 oz. and is 21 inches long! He is in the 5th percentile for weight and 10th percentile for height! ha ha he is just a little guy. He is healthy as a horse! We also got Jaxson's newborn pictures taken by Josh's cousin Michelle. Father's Day was fun this year because it was Josh's first! He has talked about having matching shirts with Jax since he was born..

..so that is what I got him! I had little shirts made for both of them. Ha he will probably never wear it but it was funny! Josh is the best little dad ever! He is so cute with Jax and I love him so much!

On Father's Day I can't help but think about my awesome Dad and how much he has done for me! He has been there for me through thick and thin and has been the best Dad I could ever imagine! I love you, Happy Father's Day Dad!

I also have an amazing Father-in-law that we have the pleasure of living with for the next little bit! Ralph has been awesome and has done so much for us since

we got married. Thanks Ralph, we love you! Happy Father's Day

We also celebrated Ralph's birthday this last week! We had some yummy bread pudding and opened presents! Happy Birthday Ralph!!

Jaxson is so much fun! We are loving being parents and love him so much!

Our little man is here and we are so excited! He came a little earlier than expected but he is doing great! Here is our labor story:

Tuesday June 1st- I had a doctor's appointment. I had been going twice a week to get NST's and AFI (Non-Stress Tests & Amniotic Fluid Tests) to make sure baby was okay because I had pre-eclampsia. I went to the doctor and I was dilated to a 2 and 80% effaced! We headed upstairs to my NST. Jaxson's little heartbeat dipped while he was being monitored, so they sent me for further tests to make sure he was going to be okay. We got more ultrasounds and then they admitted me for further monitoring. After monitoring me for a few hours his heart had dipped a few more times and my BP was still high. The doc came in and said he thought it was best the I be induced. So at 4:30 PM they began the pitosin to induce my labor. I wanted to try going as far as I could without any drugs.....needless to say by 11:00 that night I was ready for the epidural. It was HEAVEN after that! :)

Josh had to push on my knees because it really helped with my labor pains. So every time I had a hard contraction this is what he would do....

Wednesday June 2nd- I labored most of the night. As I was laboring my Blood Pressure kept going up so they had to put me on Magnesium to prevent me from going into seizures. It was horrible! It made me feel awful. As they were putting in my catheter my BP and Jaxson's heart rate dropped terribly! My BP was 80/30. Everyone in the hospital ran in and I had to wear oxygen the rest of my labor. By 5:00 AM I was ready to start pushing. They had told me that first time moms can push up to two hours. So I started pushing with the nurse. I pushed twice and she said hold on I have to go get the doctor, you are not going to be pushing for two hours. In came the doc and I pushed a few more times. My doctor had not got there yet, and they weren't sure if he would make it. About 10 minutes before I delivered he walked in! He talked to us and told us that they don't usually do episiotomy's anymore, unless the baby is in distress and so basically not to worry about that. I pushed a few more times and out came the clippers! Jaxson's heart rate was falling and so I had an episiotomy and they got him out! The cord was wrapped around his little neck SIX TIMES!!! His umbilical cord was also SIX FEET LONG!!! Everyone in the delivery room was amazed and joking about it! He was born and it was the most amazing thing I have ever experienced! He was 5 pounds 11 ounces and 20.5 inches long born at 5:42 AM! He is a long skinny thing!

I had to remain on Magnesium for 24 hours after delivery, which meant I had to keep my catheter in also....it was AWFUL!! The Magnesium made me feel horrible and I could not get out of bed.

Thursday June 3rd-We remained in the hospital, both Jaxson and I still being monitored. We were told we could go home Friday morning! At first Jaxson was having a hard time staying warm because he was so small and his glucose was low. They had to poke his poor little heels like 10 times! I would cry every time he did.

Friday June 4th- We thought we could go home today! Both Jax and I were doing well. Then they testing Jax's bilirubin and it was "critically high". So now he had to go under these awful lights for at least 12 hours only coming out every 3 hours for feeding for 3o minutes.

could not stay in our hospital room anymore, so they had this little room called the "Twilight Room" that was basically a glorified closet with a little bed and TV in it. We were grateful though because we got to stay with our little boy.

Saturday June 5th- At 5:00 AM they ordered the last test on Jax's bilirubin and we were hoping to know everything in an hour or two....at 10:00, 5 HOURS after the test was ordered STAT, we still had not heard results and Jax still had to stay under those awful lights. Apparently someone in the lab ran the wrong test on the blood so they had to draw it yet again...poor little man. Within an hour we knew his results and they were down so we could go home!! YAY!! FINALLY!!! The rest of the day was spent getting him ready and all the discharge information. We got home around 5:00 PM that night.

Sunday June 6th- We had to repeat Jax's bilirubin, it was still low! YAY he is a happy, healthy boy!

We are so grateful for our little boy and can't believe how much we love him! We are enjoying being paranoid first time parents and watching his every move and breath. He is sleeping pretty good I think! He gets up about every 2 1/2 hours to eat and then goes right back to sleep. He had his first blow out poop yesterday and Josh was so proud for some reason! He showed everyone in the house! ha ha. I am learning how to change diapers fast and not to cry when Jax does. We are loving being parents and Josh is the best dad I have ever seen!
